Angel is Rabbi of Congregation Shearith Israsel, the historic Spanish and Portuguese synagogue in New York City. He has published "A Sephardic Haggadah: Translation and Commentary" (Hoboken, 1988). He is vice president of the Rabbinical Council of America, and a member of the Editorial Board of 'Tradition.'
