Syrkin, Marie

Marie Syrkin, the dean of American Labor Zionism, was for more than 50 years the editor or an editorial board member of The Jewish Frontier. A former faculty member in the English Department at Brandeis University, she has written many articles-covering subjects ranging from Hannah Arendt to Arnold Toynbee to the meaning of Zionism-and is the author of the books Blessed Is the Match, Gleanings and a biography of Golda Meir.
